Check out the mischievous look on my face! A pure “I got new shoes at a bargain” smile!!
My LOVE for shoes runs deep. It’s probably due to the Catholic School uniform……. it was the footwear that set you apart! Anyone else blame the school uniform look for your shoe obsession?! It’s a good excuse, right? Over the years my love for shoe shopping has only grown stronger!!
I always get nervous walking into the shoe department at Nordstrom……..because I know there’s a 99.9% chance I am walking out of there with a new pair of shoes. Up until a few years ago I never really understood the whole craze of the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale. Now I know, there’s some REAL DEALS to be found both online and even better in-store. Of course, I went in to the store last week for a “quick” return and check out the mischievous look of the aftermath! Some would say a fail…….my glass is definitely full. I scored some bargains AND we got met Kyle Schwarber and Ian Happ from the Chicago Cubs. Overall, I would say it was a successful visit to Nordstrom!!
My tips for shopping this sale:
1. Do a quick assessment of your shoe closet. Check out the current (summer styles) and upcoming season (fall).
2. Think about the items in your closet! Is there a dress/pants/skirt/jeans that you “can’t” wear because you don’t have the perfect shoe to complete the outfit?
3. Neutrals are the perfect answer to every wardrobe shoe dilemma! They go with everything and are a great solution to travel with as they go with any outfit.
4. Think ahead! I have scored amazing shoe deals on thinking ahead for the next season.
6. Browse online so you can do your research and if you can head in to the stores as you will be surprised at which items you can find.
5. Get a Nordstrom card! You can apply for a store card or credit card and they are a great way to get early access to these great sales.
Preset Bootie: These are the perfect low heeled booties for pairing with jeans or a dress for a dressed down or casual look. I love the V detail on the sides which will give your leg an elongated feminine look.
Block Heel Bootie: Grey is a great darker neutral but not as stark as black. It can go with black and navy pants/jeans. I had a pair of similar boots in maroon last year and got great wear out of them!
Fileana Bootie: This is like the taller version of No. 1 above with a higher heel.
Available in a selection of colors these casual sneakers are great for pairing with jeans or a casual fitted dress. I love that they are waterproof so they are the perfect addition to your fall/spring closet.
Corbin Slide Loafer by Halogen: Loafers are “all the rage” this season and make the perfect transition shoe from summer to fall wardrobe. I love the neutral tones of this pick but check out which one I actually purchased below!
Addidas Gazelle Sneaker: Truth be told, I want a pair of these sneakers (or as we say in Ireland “Runners”) in every color!
Embellished Mule: This flat incorporates two trends of the season; mules and embellished attire! I think these are the perfect flat for lazy Saturday’s with a pair of relaxed fit jeans!
Annette Ankle Bootie: My love for Rebecca Minkoff meets my love for blush! What a fun, adorable bootie to add to your fall closet. The studs give them an lil edgy vibe!
Majorca Peep Toe Bootie: Comfort meets class while giving back is all the justification you need to purchase these booties! The diamond perforation and closed heel just add to the great design!
Karina Block Heel by Vince Camuto: I have a pair of Vince Camuto block heel booties that are on repeat constantly. They are so comfortable and the perfect neutral for summer, fall and even next spring!
Nude Heels: I have a pair of nude color pointy-toe heels and I always get asked where to purchase them. These shoes are so perfect to wear with any outfit and the nude tone elongates your legs (I stole that tip from Victoria Beckham many years ago!).
Sunny High Peep Toe Bootie: Olive green is in for fall. These booties would be great paired with an army green shirt or a chambray dress! I love the subtle color shade of these booties!
Check out which ones I purchased for under $100!
Meeting players from Chicago Cubs was an added bonus! Of course my little guy who is ALWAYS in Cubs gear was wearing a Seattle Mariners shirt that day – we got a chuckle out of the Cubs Players for that one!
I hope you have as much fun as we did on your next visit to Nordstrom! I also hope I helped you narrow down your selection of styles for a steal in this Anniversary Sale. Please let me know which shoes you love and if you scored a bargain!
